Job Description
Title: Bartender (Part-Time)
Description: The Renaissance Des Moines Savery Hotel is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual for the part-time position of Bartender. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills, with strong proficiency in customer service and maintaining cleanliness.
This position offers an hourly rate plus gratuity.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mix ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks for guests and the service bar.
- Serve wine and other draught or bottled beer.
- Collect payment for drinks and food served.
- Order and manage liquors and supplies.
- Arrange bottled goods and glasses to create an attractive display.
- Slice and pit fruit for drink garnishes.
- Replenish clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes in the bar area.
- Notify a manager immediately of any guest complaints.
- Use proper etiquette with guests.
- Observe all safety rules and procedures.
- Assist other service personnel as needed.
Requirements:
- Ability to lift and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Physical ability to push, bend, stoop, reach upward, and stand for long periods.
- Manual dexterity and effective hearing, writing, and typing skills.
- Must ensure cleanliness of the bar area.
- Availability for evening and weekend shifts.
- Other duties may be assigned.
