Title: Bartender

Location: Bloomington, IL 61701 Position Type: Part-Time Salary Range: $15.00 - $15.50 Hourly

DoubleTree is seeking a bartender to join the Food & Beverage team, reporting to the Banquet Manager. The bartender provides food and beverage service to maximize customer satisfaction by offering friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional service to all guests.

Responsibilities:

Serve beverages to guests in the hotel
Ensure proper and adequate bar setup
Stock beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice, and produce based on daily functions
Maintain stock, prepare and store fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and perishables to ensure product quality
Greet guests and mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard recipes and portion control
Check guest identification, manage payments, and serve alcohol according to State, Federal, and corporate liquor regulations
Communicate courteously with supervisors and co-workers
Perform general cleaning tasks as assigned
Attend to special guest requests
Adhere to all liquor laws regarding service to minors and intoxicated guests
Other duties as assigned by the Banquet Manager or Supervisor

Requirements:

1 to 5 years of food and beverage serving experience preferred
High school education preferred
Strong knowledge of alcoholic beverage preparation, service, and liquor laws
Ability to operate Point of Sale (POS) systems
Strong communication skills in English (reading, speaking, writing)
Ability to follow supervisor’s directions
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs
Neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
Must be of legal serving age
CPR certification and/or First Aid training preferred
Additional language skills preferred

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit for extended periods
Reach with hands and arms
Manual dexterity for handling serving tools
Ability to work in varying temperature and noise levels
Normal vision and hearing
