Title: Restaurant Bartender

Q39, Kansas City's award-winning BBQ, is expanding! We are opening a new location in Lawrence, Kansas, and building an exceptional management team to bring our passion for world-class BBQ and scratch-made, chef-inspired cuisine to even more guests.

Job Purpose: As a Bartender, you play a key role in creating memorable dining experiences by providing exceptional service through attentiveness, accuracy, and genuine hospitality. You will guide guests throughout their visit, working closely with the front-of-house team, and must have elevated beverage knowledge and practice responsible alcohol service.

Key Responsibilities:

Welcome guests warmly and create an inviting bar atmosphere.
Demonstrate expertise in cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits; provide recommendations and ensure accurate pours.
Craft drinks efficiently and enter orders precisely in the POS (Toast) to maintain proper pacing.
Collaborate with servers, barbacks, and kitchen staff for timely and accurate food and beverage service.
Engage guests, monitor their needs proactively, and handle requests or concerns attentively.
Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including glassware, tools, garnishes, and stock.
Follow closing procedures accurately, process payments, thank guests sincerely, and complete end-of-shift duties.
Stock and set the bar and service wells at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure smooth operations.
Support the team to provide seamless service.
Uphold Q39 standards of service, cleanliness, and responsible alcohol service at all times.

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years bartending experience in a full-service restaurant or bar.
Proficient with Toast POS or similar systems.
Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine.
Excellent communication and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to stand and walk for 4–5 hours per shift.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Guest-focused, team-oriented, and professional attitude.
Understanding of responsible alcohol service and food safety practices.
