Job Description
The Red Mile team is dedicated to creating outstanding experiences for patrons and employees, delivering world-class entertainment in the “Horse Racing Capital of the World.” We are seeking a Barback to join our dynamic team.
Summary: The Barback is responsible for organizing and stocking bars with supplies and beverage products, maintaining cleanliness of all beverage areas and equipment, and assisting bartenders in serving guests.
Essential Duties:
- Retrieve and verify orders from the storeroom with storeroom personnel and bartenders
- Maintain adequate supplies at the workstation, including straws, stir sticks, napkins, cups, etc.
- Rotate beer stock and fill reach-in refrigerators
- Wash and stock glassware
- Maintain stock of fruit and replace as needed
- Fill ice bins, empty garbage, replace trash liners and bar mats
- Sweep and mop floors
- Perform additional cleaning duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum 6 months experience in a similar role preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication)
- Must communicate effectively in English
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Flexible availability to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts
- Excellent customer service skills
Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
- Regularly use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear
- Frequently stand and walk throughout the shift
