Job Title: VIP Cocktail Server - House of Blues New Orleans

Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and motivated VIP Cocktail Server with an entrepreneurial spirit, resourcefulness, and commitment. As part of Live Nation Entertainment, you will embody these qualities and provide high-end beverage and bottle service to VIP guests in a fast-paced live music environment.

Responsibilities:

Anticipate and respond to guests’ needs
Demonstrate strong working knowledge of all beverages
Answer guest questions, make recommendations, suggestively sell beverages and menu items, and take orders
Communicate drink orders to the bar using the Point of Sale system
Deliver drinks while maneuvering trays through large crowds
Maintain visibility and atmosphere control by circulating through the work area
Clear dirty glasses and dishes from tables, including lifting and moving bus tubs up to 25 lbs
Keep tables clean and wipe spills; maintain sanitation standards
Follow House of Blues safety, sanitation, and housekeeping policies
Request identification from guests who appear under 30 years of age
Ensure responsible alcohol service per local ordinances and training policies
Recognize and manage intoxicated guests by refusing further service and notifying management
Process payments via cash, credit card, or traveler’s checks according to policy
Handle comp and void checks properly
Maintain professional grooming and articulate communication
Assist other servers and staff as needed
Attend pre-shift meetings led by the Manager on Duty
Execute Bottle Service standards and procedures flawlessly

Requirements: Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years serving experience in upscale dining or nightlife venues
Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or equivalent
Flexible schedule with availability for late shifts
Knowledge of cocktail tray service, basic food service, drink recipes, garnishes, and POS systems
Ability to handle intoxicated guests safely and positively
Tolerance for diverse cultures, music, and art forms

Preferred:

Experience handling cash transactions
Basic knowledge of wines, spirits, and mixology
Ability to recognize valid IDs
Experience in a live music environment

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Fast-paced, often loud and stressful environment
Prolonged periods of standing and active work on feet
Ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper techniques
