Title: Barback

Location: Ocean City, Maryland

Status: Part-time, full-time, seasonal, on-call

Reports to: Bar Manager

Pay Range: Hourly rate to be determined

Job Summary: The Barback is responsible for supporting bartenders by maintaining a clean and fully stocked bar area, ensuring smooth and efficient service. This includes replenishing supplies, preparing garnishes, and keeping the bar organized to enhance guest satisfaction.

Essential Functions and Duties:

Assist bartenders by restocking all bar supplies, including liquor, mixers, and glassware.
Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including wiping surfaces and washing bar tools and equipment.
Prepare fresh garnishes and ensure their availability for bartenders.
Keep ice bins stocked and assist with beverage preparation during peak hours.
Remove and dispose of trash and empty bottles throughout the shift.
Organize and maintain beverage storage areas.
Assist with setting up and breaking down the bar for service.
Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the Bar Manager.
Respond promptly to bartender requests to ensure uninterrupted service.

Required Experience, Education, and Skills:

Previous experience in a bar or restaurant environment is preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Basic knowledge of bar operations and beverage preparation.

Work Environment:

Primarily indoor role in a fast-paced bar environment.
Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks such as stocking and cleaning.
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
