Reports To: Concept Manager Department: Food & Beverage/Retail Operations Status: Exempt Date: September 2023 Pay Rate: $15.97 per hour
Broad Functions: To serve beverages and food to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner to ensure total guest satisfaction. Prepare beverages for other servers and act as cashier for the facility.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Take beverage orders from guests and servers.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to the restaurant’s standard recipes.
- Input orders into the point of sale register and create checks for guests, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability.
- Accept guest payments, process credit card charges, make change, and ensure proper voucher execution to balance all money.
- Wash and sterilize glassware.
- Prepare garnishes and replenish snacks and appetizers for bar patrons.
- Maintain stock, cut, and store fresh fruit, vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure quality.
- Adhere to all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations regarding serving to minors and intoxicated guests.
- Contact management and security personnel in case of disorderly guests.
- Clear and reset tables in the bar area.
- Follow the Guest Program’s steps of service, including presenting drink menus, making recommendations, and answering beverage questions.
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage.
- Report equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the restaurant manager.
- Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies, including requisitioning and stocking of beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, and condiments.
- Fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant operations as directed by the restaurant manager or supervisor.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old with a minimum of one year bartending experience.
- High school diploma preferred.
- Proficient in verbal and written English to communicate effectively with guests.
- Basic math skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total checks, count bank, prepare cash drops, and understand portion sizes.
- Food handler or liquor permits as required by law.
- Brand certification as required.
- Ability to memorize, recite, and promote menu items.
- Proficient with keyboards and point of sale systems.
- Ability to work and stand for long periods, including in confined spaces.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and alcoholic beverage service.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 60 pounds.

Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, use hands and fingers, communicate verbally, hear, reach, climb, balance, taste, and smell. Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift or move up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus.
