Job Description
Job Title: Bartender
Location: 758 - Kansas City Intercontinental, Kansas City, MO 64112 Position Type: Part Time Shift: PM
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests courteously and take drink orders.
- Mix, garnish, and present beverages following standard recipes and portion control.
- Maintain daily bar setup, including requisitioning and stocking beer, wine, spirits, paper products, garnishes, condiments, and produce.
- Prepare and store fresh fruit, vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables.
- Handle cash transactions, make change, verify charges, and maintain accurate records.
- Secure all beverages, food, equipment, and cash deposits.
- Answer bar phone promptly and take room service orders accurately.
- Input orders into point-of-sale system and maintain accountability of all beverages served.
- Perform general cleaning tasks to meet health standards.
- Follow company policies, safety, and security procedures.
- Report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, or losses to the supervisor.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
- Assist other beverage personnel as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Requirements:
- Current Food Handler Card.
- Knowledge of state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations regarding alcohol service.
- Basic food and beverage preparation and service knowledge.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and register operation.
- Basic English reading and writing skills.
- Manual dexterity to prepare garnishes, handle glassware, bottles, ice, and beverage equipment.
- Ability to transport up to 30 lbs regularly during the shift.
- Ability to stand and walk constantly, with frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and smiling.
