Job Description
Pizza Bar offers a taste of Kansas City's good life with fresh New York-style pizza made from hand-tossed dough and San Marzano tomato sauce imported from Italy. Guests can enjoy their handcrafted pies alongside an extensive selection of Boulevard Beer on tap, ideal for lunch, large groups, casual hangouts, or nightlife.
**Barback Responsibilities:**
- Demonstrate energy, professionalism, and a friendly attitude.
- Perform basic bar prep: refill ice bins, restock beer and liquor, cut garnishes.
- Change empty kegs in the keg room, including moving full kegs.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area by cleaning spills and emptying trash.
- Organize bar supplies and drinkware.
- Clear and clean the bar promptly.
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Provide polite, professional, and courteous customer service.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers and guests.
- Complete all assigned side work.
**Barback Qualifications:**
- Food service experience with general knowledge of bar/nightclub operations.
- Fluent in English; additional languages preferred.
- At least 18 years old or older, depending on state regulations.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with guests, staff, and supervisors.
- Alcohol awareness certification and/or valid food handler card as required by local or state regulations.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math tasks.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to lift, carry, and handle items weighing up to 200 pounds (kegs, ice, glasses, trays).
- Move efficiently and safely within the facility.
- Bend, stand, stoop, and kneel as required.
- Adapt to potential temperature variations in the work environment.
