Job Description
Title: Bartender
Location: Oakwood Country Club, Kansas City, MO 64137 Position Type: Part-Time Department: Food and Beverage Reports to: Food and Beverage Director
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 12th-grade education.
- At least one year of bartending experience.
- Alcohol beverage certification required.
- Must be of legal age to prepare and serve alcoholic beverages.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, pour, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following standard recipes.
- Stock the bar and complete all pre-opening and closing tasks.
- Prepare garnishes, fruit mixes, and pre-mixed drinks prior to opening.
- Greet members and guests professionally.
- Comply with all state and local laws and club policies regarding alcohol service.
- Monitor and control beverage inventory; maintain records for liquor, beer, and wine.
- Clean and maintain the bar area and equipment.
- Read and understand Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to support events.
- Work independently or as part of a team during large or small events.
- Refuse alcohol service when necessary and handle related situations appropriately.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Provide excellent customer service and thank guests, encouraging their return.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand for long periods, walk, climb stairs, and perform repetitive motions.
- Lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Work in hot, humid, and noisy environments.
