Title: Bartender

Location: Gateway Riverboat Cruises Employment Type: Seasonal Compensation: $16.00 per hour

Job Summary: Enjoy bartending? Join us on the Riverboats at the Gateway Arch, serving guests during dinner, specialty, private cruises, and dockside events. We are seeking energetic, guest-oriented bartenders who take pride in exceptional service.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring proper recipes and garnishes
Check identification to verify legal drinking age
Maintain a fully stocked bar throughout shifts
Keep a clean and organized workspace, including glasses and bar equipment
Assist with setup and breakdown of bar area for events
Maintain knowledge of pricing, menu items, and general cruise information
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during cruises and private events
Follow all company policies and procedures related to alcohol service and safety
Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals at Points of Sale
Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner; answer inquiries and provide directions when acting as greeter
Perform side duties such as setting up dining areas, refilling condiments, rolling silverware, cleaning the dock, replenishing concessions, and cleaning menus
Assist with stocking supplies in gift shop, dry storage, and coolers
Participate in team meetings and training sessions

Requirements:

Minimum age: 21 years
Previous bartending experience required
Must pass alcohol and drug screening
Must pass basic background check
Must pass math proficiency questionnaire (part of application)
Ability to work outdoors on a moving vessel in varying weather conditions
Able to lift up to 50 lbs
Able to stand continuously for 3 to 9 hours per day
Able to carry trays/plates up and down stairs
Able to bend and stoop
Exceptional guest service and communication skills
Basic cash handling and credit card operation skills
Ability to learn and follow company rules and procedures
