blu Bartender
Job Description
Position Title: Bartender for blu, an upscale lounge located on the 9th floor, open Monday through Sunday from 4 PM to 12 AM.
Department: Beverage - Casino Division: Food and Beverage
Position Summary: Receive beverage orders from servers or guests and prepare drinks as ordered. Maintain a friendly and courteous demeanor toward all guests at all times. Have been trained in alcohol awareness, handle guest complaints quickly and properly, and maintain control at the bar. Train and supervise barbacks to assist with bar duties.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and prepare beverage orders with proper proportions and ingredients.
- Have thorough knowledge of cocktails, beers, wines, glassware, pricing, and cash/comp procedures.
- Operate cash register system and be responsible for all cash, receipts, comp tickets, and provide correct change.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation, personal grooming, and conduct.
- Be observant and responsive to guests’ and servers’ needs at all times.
- Manage time efficiently, adapt to multiple tasks, anticipate needs and act proactively.
- Observe proper alcohol awareness rules when serving guests and servers.
- Train aspiring barbacks in bartending skills.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Education and Skills Required:
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Basic knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits, familiar with standard drink recipes.
- Basic math skills and ability to handle money.
