Title: Bartender and Casino Attendant

JOB SUMMARY The Bartender and Casino Attendant (BCA) is often the first point of contact for Mountain View Co-op (MVC) customers. The BCA must maintain a positive and cooperative attitude that promotes teamwork, integrity, honesty, and helpfulness while embracing MVC’s philosophy and customer service culture.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP Reports to the Location Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish and maintain a positive customer service experience for MVC customers, clients, and vendors.
- Report for duty in a fit condition, adhering to dress code and personal hygiene standards.
- Handle customer complaints promptly and professionally.
- Provide feedback to managers.
- Stock bar supplies including beer, wine, liquor, ice, glassware, napkins, and straws.
- Check customer identification to verify legal alcohol purchase age.
- Take beverage orders from staff or patrons and serve alcoholic drinks.
- Collect payment for all drinks served and maintain confidentiality of transactions.
- Follow all gaming regulations, including listening for jackpot alarms and issuing payoffs.
- Obtain customer signatures on receipts when winnings exceed slot machine limits.
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar and casino areas.
- Explain promotions and specials to customers.
- Count funds and reconcile daily transaction summaries.
- Convert gaming checks, coupons, tokens, or coins to currency.
- Cash checks and process credit card advances for patrons.
- Keep accurate records of monetary exchanges and transaction reconciliations.
- Follow MVC’s credit policy.
- Provide any necessary customer service functions.
- Assist with facility and equipment maintenance as needed.
- Promote and practice workplace safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Knowledge of customer service, phone etiquette, organization, basic math, MVC products, and safety procedures.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
- Punctuality and reliability.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior customer service experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL ABILITIES
- Clear speech and hearing for effective communication.
- Clear near and far vision to operate computers and read materials.
- Manual dexterity to operate POS systems, handle products, and serve beverages.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to walk, stand, and reach during entire shift.
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, and climbing.
- Work performed in a bar/casino environment.
- Customer assistance and location duties in all weather conditions.
- Varied noise levels from low to moderately loud.
