Title: Bartender | Brook Valley Country Club

Overview: Brook Valley Country Club is seeking Bartenders to join our team to prepare, pour, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The position requires knowledge of all aspects of mixology, including food and wine pairings, wine presentation, and service. Brook Valley Country Club is a McConnell Golf Property.

Responsibilities:

Inspect the bar prior to opening to ensure adequate supplies are available.
Request additional supplies as necessary and stock the bar.
Follow set-up procedures.
Prepare garnishes, fruit mixes, and pre-mixed drinks before opening.
Greet members and guests.
Mix, prepare, and serve drinks to members and guests according to approved standard recipes.
Collect checks and payments for drinks served.
Report complaints to management as they occur.
Maintain and clean bar area and equipment.
Keep records of liquors, beers, and wines to maintain appropriate stock levels.
Clean and lock the bar area following closing procedures.
Ensure all food items are correctly stored, labeled, dated, and rotated to prevent health or safety hazards.
Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Adhere strictly to all laws and club policies regarding alcoholic beverage service.
Serve drinks to members and guests seated at lounge tables when beverage servers are unavailable.
Practice beverage and revenue control procedures consistently.
Thank members and guests and invite them to return.
Complete other work assignments as requested by supervisors.

Qualifications:

Minimum grade 12 education.
Two years of bartending experience.
Must be of legal age to prepare and serve alcoholic beverages.
Weekend availability required.

Job Knowledge and Competencies:

Skilled in stocking bar and completing pre-opening and pre-closing requirements.
Prepare and serve beverages according to standard recipes.
Ability to slow or refuse alcoholic beverage service when necessary.
Compliant with safety and sanitation requirements.
Good organizational skills.
Basic knowledge of club or comparable POS systems is preferred.
Familiarity with department operations, events, and operating hours.
Ability to read and understand Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
Capable of working large or small events with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of emergency procedures and roles.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical activities such as walking, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, stretching, twisting, or reaching.
Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds.
Perform continuous repetitive motions.
Work in hot, humid, and noisy environments.

Salary Range: USD $12.00 - $14.00 per hour.
