Summary: The Assistant Bar Manager ensures the smooth operation of all bar outlets and their services, focusing on detail, quality, and customer service. This position reports to the Bar Manager.

Responsibilities:

Train and motivate bartenders
Ensure compliance with ABC laws and SOPs set by the Bar Manager
Maintain checklists to prepare bartenders for all shifts
Manage inventory and ordering to avoid excess stock
Enhance bar programs by standardizing basics and staying current with trends
Maximize revenue across all bar outlets
Organize and maintain cleaning programs ensuring menus are accurate and clean
Seek guest feedback during service
Be familiar with hotel facilities, hours of operation, and locations
Maintain an inviting bar environment with attention to detail
Develop new bar concepts and cocktails
Achieve budgeted beverage sales, beverage costs, and labor costs
Control glassware and bar equipment
Be present on the floor during service to ensure exceptional guest experience
Prepare and organize staff before service periods
Maintain hotel bar control policies in accordance with state laws
Follow proper purchasing and requisition procedures
Provide quick, effective service to guests
Handle guest issues and requests professionally
Manage staff morale and appearance

Qualifications:

Previous supervisory experience preferred
Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations with focus on cocktails
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work well in team environments and under high pressure
Effective at resolving guest complaints and staff concerns
Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical stamina for long periods of standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and performing duties indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions

The Assistant Bar Manager plays a key role in maintaining high service standards, operational compliance, and driving bar revenue growth while ensuring a positive experience for guests and staff.

Candidates must have previous supervisory experience and a strong background in food and beverage operations, specifically with cocktails.
