Job Description

Job Location: Congress Hall Hotel - Cape May, NJ 08204 Salary Range: $6.05 - $13.00 Hourly

Position Overview: Prepare and serve beverages to servers and guests in a speedy, efficient, friendly, and professional manner while maintaining compliance with all alcohol service laws.

Responsibilities:

Prepare drinks for customers and servers, ensuring all materials and supplies are available.
Verify printed drink tickets before preparing drinks.
Act as cashier for servers when necessary.
Ensure minors and intoxicated persons are not served alcoholic beverages.
Maintain cleanliness of the bar area by disposing of waste, cleaning glassware, and wiping down surfaces.
Conduct opening and closing inventory of spirits.
Assist servers, bartenders, and bar backs as needed.
Participate in periodic deep cleaning of the bar.
Attend all scheduled training sessions and meetings.
Adapt to varying work schedules based on hotel business needs.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum one year of experience in a high-volume bar environment.
Must be of legal age to serve alcohol.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computational and computer skills.
Knowledge and ability to operate bar equipment including coffee maker and cash terminal.
Strong knowledge of drink preparation and health standards.
Understanding of federal, state, and local alcohol service laws and hotel policies.
Ability to work indoors in temperature-controlled environments and occasionally in extreme temperatures (freezers and kitchens).
Ability to stand and move for up to 4 hours continuously.
Capability to lift trays and items up to 30 pounds regularly, bend, squat, and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to work effectively in limited space and perform cleaning tasks involving bending, stooping, and stretching.
Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance according to Cape Resorts standards.
