Title: Bartender

Location: Ocean City, Maryland

The Bartender is responsible for greeting guests, preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and managing transactions through the POS system. The role includes maintaining bar cleanliness, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with all local and national liquor laws.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Greet guests warmly and provide courteous, service-oriented assistance.
Learn and use guests’ names, remembering regulars’ favorite drinks.
Perform cashier duties following company and franchise standards, ensuring quality service and guest satisfaction.
Set up and clean the bar area before and after shifts according to operational policies.
Complete side work such as stocking liquor, juices, glassware, and garnishes.
Be knowledgeable about menu items and beverages, including preparation methods and garnishes.
Use suggestive selling techniques to increase sales.
Maintain up-to-date alcohol serving certification (e.g., TIPS).
Adhere to all local and national liquor laws.
Verify guest orders before serving to ensure accuracy and presentation.
Assist in controlling beverage costs by reducing waste.
Maintain inventory and requisition supplies to ensure efficient operations.
Accurately take orders, complete guest checks, and process transactions via POS.
Pre-bus and bus tables to prepare for future customers.
Attend meetings and training as required.
Maintain punctual attendance and compliance with work schedules.
Adhere to dress code and maintain professional appearance.
Perform additional duties as requested by supervisors.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required.
Bartender school or course completion preferred.
Minimum one year bartending experience preferred.
Valid and current alcohol serving certification required.

Qualifications:

Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple correspondence.
Basic math skills.
Familiarity with computer and POS systems.

Work Environment:

Work is mostly indoors with temperature control and lighting; some outdoor exposure possible.

Physical Demands:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
