The Dining Services Bartender/Server is responsible for providing prompt, courteous beverage and food service to residents and guests in the dining room and bar during assigned times. This role includes preparing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, taking orders, serving snacks and drinks, bussing and resetting tables, as well as assisting with food preparation, hospitality duties, and maintaining sanitation standards.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve cocktails, mixed drinks, and other beverages to patrons.
- Take customer orders and make recommendations based on preferences.
- Serve food and beverages in the Dining Room, Bar, Bistro, and at special events or meetings.
- Check identification to ensure legal drinking age compliance.
- Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
- Clean and maintain bar, dining, and meeting areas following sanitation guidelines.
- Assist with setup for meetings, delivering snacks, coffee, tea, and beverages.
- Open and close bar/eatery areas as needed.
- Follow all federal, state, and healthcare regulations related to food and beverage service.
Education and Work Experience:
- High school diploma required.
- Training in Servsafe or relevant state-specific certification/license preferred.
- Minimum one year of bartending and/or serving experience preferred.
- Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to follow written instructions and safety protocols.
- Friendly, dependable, detail-oriented, and organized.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
- Calm response in emergency situations.
- Patience and compassion when interacting with senior adults.
- Maintain a neat appearance and adhere to dress code and uniform standards.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and beverage preparation principles.
- Ability to work well with residents, staff, visitors, and vendors.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and long periods of standing or walking.
- Adequate vision and hearing to perform job duties.
- $14.01 - $18.44 per hour, based on qualifications, experience, and location.
