Title: Barback

Overview: The Barback prepares and services bars operating within the hotel in accordance with established guest service and sustainability standards.

Responsibilities:

Greet and acknowledge guests while performing barback duties.
Retrieve orders from storerooms; verify stock received against requisitions with storeroom personnel and bartenders.
Cut, slice, and prepare garnishes and fruits; mix and pour juices in sufficient amounts based on projected business.
Store perishable supplies requiring refrigeration properly.
Assist bartenders in maintaining adequate supplies such as stir sticks, napkins, and matches.
Maintain cleanliness of bar areas, beer lockers, refrigeration, and storage to comply with health codes.
Scoop ice from ice bins, transport it to service areas, and replenish ice containers.
Collect and store empty liquor bottles for returns and requisitions.
Transport and replace taps and perform routine maintenance on beer kegs.
Follow sustainability practices related to the hotel's EarthView program.
Practice safe work habits and comply with MSDS and OSHA standards.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Customer service or restaurant experience is a plus.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Work schedule varies and may include holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts.
Physical requirements include standing, walking, lifting, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
