Job Description
Title: Lounge Bartender | Philadelphia Residence Inn
Shaner Hotels is an award-winning hospitality company managing over 65 properties across 14 states and four countries. Our Philadelphia Residence Inn, located near Philadelphia Airport and downtown historic attractions, offers guests a relaxing lounge with an adjoining patio and fire pit.
Responsibilities:
- Take orders, prepare, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and light meals to guests courteously and efficiently according to hotel specifications.
- Maintain stock, supplies, and cleanliness of the outlet and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all daily operational procedures within the Food and Beverage Department.
- Maintain food and beverage safety and quality per hotel, Shaner, and franchise standards.
- Handle guest-related issues professionally.
- Communicate effectively with the General Manager, Department Managers, Supervisors, and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum one year of experience in the restaurant or food and beverage industry.
- Meet the minimum state age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong communication skills with guests, management, and coworkers.
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
- Certifications such as ServSafe and/or alcohol awareness training (e.g., TIPS) are a plus.
- Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls.
- Basic math skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for guests.
