Bartender

Reports to: Food and Beverage Manager

Experience:

Minimum GED education.
At least one year of bartending experience.

Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations:

Stock the bar and complete other pre-opening requirements.
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes.
Skilled at slowing and refusing alcoholic beverage service when necessary.
Comply with safety and sanitation requirements.
Good organizational skills.
Basic knowledge of the club’s POS system or a comparable system preferred.
Knowledge of all aspects of department and daily operations, including events and operating hours.
Ability to read and understand Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
Ability to work large or small events with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
Clean bar and complete other pre-closing requirements.
Ensure compliance with all state and local laws and club policies related to alcoholic beverage service.
Knowledge of and ability to perform required roles during emergency situations.

Job Summary (Essential Functions): Prepare, pour, and serve beverages, requiring knowledge of mixology, including food and wine pairings and wine presentation.

Job Tasks/Duties:

Inspect the bar prior to opening to ensure adequate supplies are available.
Request and stock additional supplies as necessary.
Follow set-up procedures.
Prepare garnishes, fruit mixes, and pre-mixed drinks before opening.
Greet members and guests.
Mix, prepare, and serve drinks according to approved standard recipes.
Collect payments for drinks served.
Report complaints to management.
Maintain and clean bar area and equipment.
Maintain records of liquors, beers, and wines to ensure stock levels.
Clean and lock the bar according to closing procedures.
Ensure proper storage, labeling, dating, and rotation of food items to prevent hazards.
Attend staff meetings and training as required.
Follow laws and club policies concerning alcoholic beverage service carefully and notify management if service continuation is in question.
Serve drinks at lounge tables when beverage servers are absent.
Practice beverage and revenue control procedures.
Thank members and guests and invite them to return.
Complete other assignments as requested by supervisors.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Required to stand for long periods, walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, twist, or reach.
Must be able to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds.
Continuous repetitive motions.
Work in hot, humid, and noisy environments.

Requirements: Must have a minimum GED and at least one year of bartending experience. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods in a noisy environment is required.

Responsibilities: Prepare and serve beverages according to standard recipes while maintaining bar cleanliness and stock. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws regarding alcohol service and provide high-quality service to members and guests.
