Title: Bartender

The Tennessee Aquarium, rated the best Aquarium in America for overall guest satisfaction, attracts over 750,000 visitors each year. The Events Bartender provides excellent customer service and bartending services during evening and weekend events. Bartenders must have proven skills and be able to work at least one event per month.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve customers of legal drinking age mixed drinks, beer, and wine while maintaining a clean work environment.
Navigate multiple elevators and floors during event setup, considering guests still touring the facility.
Follow alcohol awareness protocols to prevent intoxication and manage intoxicated guests.
Understand and follow bar policies regarding tipping, setup, service, and breakdown as provided by the Manager on Duty.
Collaborate with other bartenders as assigned to ensure efficient event flow.
Operate host bars, cash bars, and ticketed bars by accurately tallying drink orders and processing payments via cash or card.
Maintain responsibility for the assigned cash till and adhere to company cashiering and money handling standards.
Engage actively and communicate effectively with guests, staff, and management.
Ensure total guest satisfaction during evening events.
Handle guest problems or complaints promptly and inform supervisors accordingly.
Assist management with essential department functions including event setup and breakdown.
Transition smoothly and accurately between job functions.
Work with outside services to uphold Aquarium guidelines, quality standards, and recycling efforts.
Understand the Aquarium campus and building layouts.

Position Details:

Part-time, hourly ($16/hour).
Mostly evening and weekend shifts.
Workload ranges from 1-2 events per month up to 1-2 events per week, depending on contracted events.
Employees must be available for at least one event per month to maintain employment status.
