Title: BARTENDER (PART TIME)

Location: UT Rio Grande Valley Address: 200-298 N Sugar Road, Edinburg, TX 78541 Schedule: Part-time; hours vary depending on event schedule (game days). Weekends required. More details upon interview.

Pay Rate: $11.00 per hour

Job Summary: Prepares and serves beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner at the bar. Ensures compliance with all state, federal, and corporate liquor laws.

Responsibilities:

Set up assigned bars; requisition and stock beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice, and produce
Maintain stock, prepare and store fresh fruit, vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables
Greet guests courteously
Take and process drink orders; mix, garnish, and present drinks following standard recipes and portion control
Check guest identification
Detect and respond to guest intoxication appropriately
Handle cash transactions, verify charges, and maintain proper vouchers
Secure beverage products, equipment, deposits, and cash
Perform cleaning tasks to meet health and safety standards
Arrange bottles and glasses attractively in the bar area
Wash and sterilize stemware
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Prior bartending experience is required
Ability to verify guest identification and detect intoxication for legal compliance
