Bartender

Job Summary: As a Bartender, you are responsible for maintaining beverage control, accurately pouring and serving drinks, and keeping the bar area clean and organized. You will provide exceptional service that meets or exceeds member expectations, consistently applying the 3-steps of service to enhance the guest experience.

Reporting Structure:

Reports to the Director of Food & Beverage, Director of Beverage, Director of Restaurants, or Director of Banquets.

Responsibilities:

Deliver high standards of service according to the food and beverage service training program.
Assist with the service of food and beverages to members and guests at the bar.
Know members’ names, greet them promptly, and provide a warm, personalized experience.
Accurately execute member and guest orders and requests in a timely manner.
Address and resolve complaints professionally, notifying management as needed and practicing effective service recovery.
Prepare the bar area for service, ensuring bottles, garnishes, glassware, and ice are fully stocked and organized at the start of each shift.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the bar area, including regular sanitizing.
Complete daily assignments and side work to meet club standards, including restocking supplies.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the a la carte menu, daily features, and specials.
Ensure all liquor items are properly stocked, accurately poured, and responsibly managed.
Possess clear knowledge of all liquors, beers, and wines available.
Support fellow employees and contribute to a positive team environment.
Complete additional duties as assigned by management.
Attend daily briefings and participate in team activities.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification in alcohol and food safety awareness preferred.
Previous experience in food and beverage service.
Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Strong commitment to ethical work standards.
Comfortable working in both indoor and occasional outdoor environments.
Basic bar and wine knowledge, including various cocktails and wine varietals.
Ability to properly open a bottle of wine with a wine tool.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical activities for extended periods.
Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments with potential exposure to dust, fumes, or gases.
Capable of climbing ladders, squatting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and folding/unfolding as required.
Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 lbs.
Effective communication skills including talking, hearing, and sufficient visual acuity.

Work Schedule:

Attendance as outlined on the weekly schedule.
Additional hours including weekends and holidays as required.
