Title: Bartender

Location: Sandston, VA 23150 Salary: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour

Summary: Responsible for full bar preparation, ordering, planning, scheduling, and serving quality products according to Brand Standards. Consistency and adherence to recipes are essential to ensure a positive guest experience. The bartender must be friendly, outgoing, possess good communication skills, and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Provide exceptional customer service to all guests, ensuring comfort and satisfaction.
Perform quality assurance for the department.
Greet, serve, and socialize with guests as needed.
Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly and request management intervention if necessary.
Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks following standard recipes.
Prepare hot and cold foods, hors d’oeuvres, and drinks.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, equipment, utensils, and service areas.
Operate beer dispensers, coffee machines, tea brewers, ovens, stoves, dishwashers, griddles, and other kitchen equipment.
Wash and sterilize stemware and dishes.
Order supplies, restock inventory, and keep records.
Maintain Brand Standards and comply with Health Department regulations.
Operate POS system (Micros), handle cash transactions, and balance cash register.
Stock and set up the bar with an attractive display in line with Brand Standards.
Assist in meeting room setup/breakdown and handle coffee breaks or refreshments.
Use empowerment to exceed guest and associate expectations and resolve conflicts.
Administer key control properly.
Remain visible and available to guests at all times.
Take initiative to offer assistance or answer questions hotel-wide.
Train new associates as needed.
Understand and implement Brand service culture.
Complete all shift checklist tasks.
Assist team members to complete daily workload.
May be required to operate a motor vehicle for hotel errands.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED preferred.
No prior experience required but preferred.
Must have applicable state health and/or alcohol compliance certification.
Must meet the state minimum age for serving alcohol.
Food handling certification required.
Successful completion of Alcohol Beverage Education training required.
Prompt, regular attendance and willingness to work flexible shifts, including overtime.
Maintain professional appearance and attitude according to hotel standards.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and as a team player.
Dedication, self-motivation, and adherence to safety standards.

Physical Demands:

Frequently stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, reach, and use hands.
Occasionally sit, talk, and hear.
Requires good vision and ability to adjust focus.
Moderate noise environment.
May require use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
