About the Role:

The Bartender is responsible for creating an exceptional bar experience by preparing high-quality cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages while delivering attentive and engaging hospitality. This role requires advanced knowledge of mixology, bar operations, and guest service, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Bartenders maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar while contributing to a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

Warmly welcome guests and provide prompt, professional, and friendly service.
Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and proper garnishing techniques.
Ensure all printed orders are promptly executed.
Maintain consistency and quality standards; managers may conduct random knowledge checks on cocktails, wine, ingredients, and bar knowledge.
Accurately input and process orders through the POS system.
Properly open and manage tabs, including pre-authorizations and attaching guest information.
Follow all cash-handling procedures, including witnessed drops, tip reporting, and safe deposits.
Turn in all cash tips to a manager at the end of the shift.
Provide knowledgeable recommendations on cocktails, wine, and beverage pairings.
Engage guests in conversation to enhance their overall experience while maintaining efficient service.
For Lemon Grove Deck shifts: greet guests as they arrive, determine their destination (restaurant or lounge), and provide menus and guidance.
Bartenders may step out from behind the bar to take orders when needed.
Set up wells fully, including ice and pull lists, when no barback is scheduled.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, including glassware, tools, and product displays.
Complete opening/closing duties and side work thoroughly.
Collaborate respectfully with servers, support staff, hosts, and management.
Practice responsible alcohol service in compliance with state and company policies.
Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
No cell phones are permitted on the floor during shifts.
Breaks must be approved by a manager and taken before the 5th hour per labor laws.
Perform other reasonable duties as requested to support the team's success.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Previous bartending experience in a high-volume or upscale bar/restaurant required.
Strong knowledge of mixology, beer, wine, and craft cocktails.
Excellent communication, hospitality, and multitasking skills.
Ability to remain calm, personable, and efficient under pressure.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Current Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certifications required or ability to obtain.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.
Ability to bend, stop, lift, reach, push, twist, walk, crouch, and squat.
Ability to lift and carry cases of product up to 40 lbs.
Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions during service.
