Job Description

Summary/Objective: South Beach Group Hotels, the largest chain of boutique hotels in Miami Beach, is seeking a Bartender to provide timely, accurate, and friendly service while preparing high-quality beverages for our guests. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality.

Essential Functions:

Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for bar and dining room patrons following standard recipes.
Communicate clearly and enthusiastically with guests to make them feel appreciated.
Maintain cleanliness and stock levels in all areas according to company standards.
Process drink orders promptly, handle payments, and give correct change.
Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display.
Clean and stock the bar after service to prepare for the next shift.
Display current bar tabs to guests at all times.
Anticipate guest needs and follow the half-full rule when offering refills.
Acknowledge guest signals promptly.
Treat every customer personally and warmly within 30 seconds of arrival.
Serve alcohol responsibly; arrange taxi service if a guest is intoxicated and involve management if needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Minimum two years of bar or restaurant experience, including at least one year in a hotel environment.
Proven experience as a Bartender with excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks.
Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked, and clean.
Relevant bartender training certificate.
Must pass Responsible Service of Alcohol Test with a score of 90% or better.
Knowledge of Spanish is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

Restaurant setting with potentially loud noise levels.
Exposure to hazards such as cuts, slips, trips, falls, and burns.
Frequent hand washing required.

Physical Demands:

Requires talking and hearing.
Active position involving standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the shift.
Frequent lifting/moving items over 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Full-time position with variable hours including weekends, holidays, evenings, and overnight shifts based on business needs.

Required Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to stand and walk during the entire shift.
Frequent reaching, bending, lifting, carrying, stooping, and wiping.
Ability to remain stationary for long periods.
