Position Overview: As a Toro Toro Bartender at InterContinental Miami, you will prepare and serve beverages promptly and courteously, maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Greet guests pleasantly as they approach the bar.
Promote house drinks and utilize up-selling skills to maximize revenue.
Prepare beverages according to established pouring standards and recipes to ensure product consistency and cost control.
Coordinate food service with restaurant(s) for bar/lounge guests when applicable.
Monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption; intervene when necessary and notify management of incidents.
Verify age of guests when required.
Alert management of any service or safety issues.
Make appropriate service recovery gestures to ensure guest satisfaction.
Set up the bar with liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware, and supplies.
Perform pre- and post-shift side work (e.g., replenishing ice bins, preparing garnishes, storing snacks).
Inventory unused liquor and beverages, securing all liquor properly before, during, and after shifts.
Handle bartender’s bank, receive payments, give accurate change, and balance cash drawer.
Maintain cleanliness and attractiveness of the bar area and equipment.
Promote teamwork through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, glassware, preparation methods, and garnishments.
Formal bartending training preferred.
Must meet state legal age requirements.
Must speak fluent English.
Ability to handle, carry, or lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to move about the bar, lounge, and kitchen; bending, stooping, kneeling.
Strong communication skills for interacting with guests and team members.
Alcohol awareness certification and/or valid food service permit or health/food handler card as required.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
