Position Summary: Bartenders are responsible for positive guest interactions by taking, preparing, and serving drinks and food efficiently while maintaining company and regulatory standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet guests and take drink and food orders
- Prepare and serve orders accurately following recipes and company standards
- Comply with company, state, county, and city alcohol service guidelines
- Verify guests’ age by checking identification for alcohol purchases
- Process payments using Point of Sale (POS) system and balance receipts
- Maintain thorough knowledge of menus, promotions, and products
- Keep accurate inventory records and ensure transfers are accurate
- Complete setup, prep, opening, and closing duties as assigned
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and storage
- Perform general cleaning to meet health and safety standards
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to all policies
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- High school diploma or GED required
- ServSafe certification required or must be obtained and maintained
- Experience in bartending, concessions, or catering preferred
- Friendly, personable, and proactive in guest service
- Knowledge of drink recipes and ability to prepare orders timely
- Good personal hygiene and well-groomed appearance
- Subject to credit and background screening
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to listen and take direction
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team
- Must communicate clearly with guests and coworkers
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking
- Skilled in using Point of Sale systems with inventory control
- Ability to stand and walk extensively, bend, kneel, climb stairs, and balance
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds, occasionally more with assistance
- Work may occur both indoors and outdoors with possible exposure to adverse conditions
- Must be able to hear and speak using a two-way radio
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays
