Job Description

Title: Bartender

The Bartender is responsible for providing the highest quality of luxury service to guests in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner. This role involves receiving and delivering guest orders, collecting payments, and properly accounting for all beverage sales while ensuring pouring measures follow standard operating procedures. The bartender also maintains neat and organized bar stations and storerooms.

Responsibilities:

Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests
Suggestively sell beverages and menu items, and take orders
Answer guest questions, make recommendations, and upsell liquors
Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
Utilize the Point of Sales system to accurately account for and process all orders
Request identification from any guest who appears to be under 30 years of age
Remove dirty glasses and dishes; handle bus tubs up to 25 lbs
Keep tables clean at all times
Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers, non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware, and garnishes
Uphold behavior consistent with sexual harassment and hostile work environment policies
Report to work as scheduled in proper uniform and comply with personal appearance standards
Apply excellent guest relations skills
Observe hotel telephone etiquette and call handling procedures
Perform special projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum 4 years experience in a customer-facing role
Valid Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or equivalent
Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and late hours
Working knowledge of basic food service, responsible alcohol service, drink recipes, garnishes, and point of sales systems
Ability to handle intoxicated guests positively and safely
Tolerance and respect for all cultures

Execute emergency procedures as per hotel standards
Comply with safety regulations and procedures
Attend hotel meetings and training sessions
Maintain cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area

Recycle whenever possible
Stay current with hotel information and changes
Follow hotel uniform and grooming standards
