Job Description
Title: Barback
Position Summary: Ensure cleanliness of the bar area, including bar supply storage. Prepare vacated bar spaces for new guests, maintain a well-stocked bar area to facilitate guest service, and assist bartenders as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Remove dishes and other items from the bar following service
- Clean and prepare the bar area for new guests according to company standards
- Perform opening, closing, and ongoing cleaning tasks as assigned
- Assist bartenders by answering guest questions, pre-bussing, and refilling non-alcoholic beverages
- Change empty kegs and maintain beer and returnable storage
- Support bartending and waitstaff with other duties as required
- Stock and prepare bar supplies
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Physical stamina to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds
- Previous restaurant experience strongly preferred
- High energy and ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to read menus, safety documents, and related materials
Physical Demands and Work Environment: Employees must be able to stand, walk while carrying heavy trays or tubs, occasionally sit, use hands for manual tasks, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Sensory abilities required include sight, taste, smell, and hearing. Exposure to raw meat, moving machinery, airborne particles, hazardous materials, and moderate to loud noise levels is possible.
