Title: Bartender (Harry's Ocean Bar & Grille)

Location: Cape May, NJ 08204 Salary: $6.05 hourly

Join an iconic Cape May resort, the Montreal Beach Resort, a favorite destination since 1966. The property includes over 70 hotel rooms, Harry’s Ocean Bar & Grille—the only rooftop bar in Cape May—and beach service. The resort also features Cape May’s only oceanfront liquor store, The Wine Cellar at Harry’s.

Summary: The Bartender will serve guests responsibly and safely, providing friendly, prompt, and courteous service while emphasizing quality to ensure repeat business.

Responsibilities:

Follow all company policies, procedures, and NJ state laws.
Provide positive guest interactions with a friendly attitude.
Pass pour and speed tests.
Confirm schedule with Manager on Duty (MOD) one week in advance.
Process credit card payments with guest signatures.
Properly consolidate, rotate, and secure alcohol before and after shifts.
Be knowledgeable about all products and manager instructions.
Ring in all drinks before serving, adhering to state law.
Remove trash and break down boxes.
Restock glassware, liquor, beer, and wine as needed.
Maintain a clean and pressed uniform.
Check glassware inventory and ensure cleanliness.
Coordinate credit card and cash bar procedures with MOD.
Record liquor exchanges and alert MOD.
Restock necessary event items.
Manage cash bank with MOD.
Review paperwork and monitor consumption sheets.
Communicate inventory needs with MOD.
Assist servers and team members for efficient service.
Approve vendor orders.
Maintain sanitary bar and storage areas per health standards.
Control costs using proper pouring techniques.
End shift with MOD approval.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Ability to pass pour and speed tests.
