Title: Barback - Part Time, Year Round

BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly assist bartenders and guests with beverage and food service by clearing and cleaning tables and other beverage areas, restocking supplies, and maintaining cleanliness.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Assist in the setup and proper arrangement of bars and service stations before, during, and after closing, ensuring cleanliness and neatness.
Deliver necessary equipment and beverages from storage areas to the bar and secure storage areas.
Set up beverages, glassware, and bar equipment such as shakers, tongs, and spoons.
Check draft beers for proper operation and replace as necessary.
Prepare garnishes by cutting fruit needed during service.
Replenish beverages, fruit, glassware, napkins, and other supplies throughout the shift.
Keep the bar area clean before, during, and after shifts, including bussing glassware, mopping, trash removal, and cleaning glasses.
Provide food service to customers as required, staying current on menu offerings and service standards.
Cooperate with beverage personnel to ensure excellent service.
Maintain knowledge of beverage and food items.
Strictly comply with New York State Alcohol Beverage Control Laws and Mohonk Mountain House Alcohol Beverage Policy.
Perform opening and closing side duties as assigned.
Handle Mohonk Mountain House equipment and supplies responsibly.
Perform basic math skills and accurately process cash and credit transactions.
Follow management instructions and work productively with or without supervision.
Adhere to dress and grooming standards, presenting a neat and professional image.
Demonstrate knowledge of Mohonk Mountain House Service Steps and Service Strategies.
Maintain a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.
Build positive working relationships with staff and provide polite, helpful guest interactions.
Work safely and comply with all safety and security regulations.
Safely operate vehicles on property when required.
Inspect work for quality and standard conformance.
Communicate clearly in English with guests and co-workers.
Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, walking up to 7 miles per day, and maneuvering carts with heavy loads.
Act calmly and effectively in emergencies.
Analyze and resolve problems effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid driver's license.
Minimum age of 21 years old, or 20 years old with at least two years of licensed driving experience.
Ability to perform physical duties described above.
