Title: Bartender - Summer Season Only

Basic Functions and Responsibilities: Prepare and serve beverages and/or food to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner, ensuring guest satisfaction. Prepare beverages for other servers and act as cashier for the outlet.

Essential Job Functions:

Perform various tasks related to beverage service, including waste control and requisitions.
Maintain proper bar setup by stocking beer, wine, spirits, glassware, and other supplies based on daily projections.
Stock, cut, and store fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and perishables daily to ensure quality.
Greet guests courteously, promote and document drink orders. Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard recipes and portion control.
Input orders into the point of sale system and create checks for accountability.
Handle cash transactions accurately, make change, and record all charges.
Maintain confidentiality of guests' personal information.
Secure all beverage, food, and equipment items; handle cash deposits and secure bank.
Adhere strictly to New York State Alcohol Beverage Control Laws and Mohonk Mountain House Alcohol Beverage Policy.
Maintain knowledgeable about all beverage items, preparation, garnishes, presentation, and equipment.
Provide recommendations to enhance guest satisfaction, such as wine pairings.
Open wine and champagne tableside.
Navigate stairs while carrying trays and work effectively in crowded, noisy environments.
Ensure all guests consuming alcohol are at least 21 years old; check IDs as needed.
Prevent service to underage or visibly intoxicated guests.
Provide food service as required and stay updated on menu offerings.
Complete opening and closing duties.
Maintain cleanliness standards for all bar areas.
Take care of equipment and supplies to prevent loss or abuse.
Maintain clear thinking, good coordination, organization, and multitasking skills.
Perform basic math and accurately handle cash/credit transactions.
Follow management instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
Adhere to dress and grooming standards to maintain a professional image.
Learn and demonstrate Mohonk Mountain House service standards and historical knowledge.
Maintain a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak periods.
Develop positive working relationships with staff and communicate effectively with guests.
Work safely, adhering to all safety and security regulations.
Operate vehicles safely according to company rules.
Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, walking up to 7 miles per day, and maneuvering carts up to 350 pounds.
Use senses effectively (sight, hearing, taste, smell) and act calmly in emergencies.

Qualifications:

Valid driver's license and at least 21 years old (20 with two years driving experience).
Previous bartending and wine service experience.
TIPS or state-recognized alcohol awareness certification preferred.
