Job Description
Title: Bartender
Summary of Position: To provide fresh, delicious, high-quality drinks in a fun atmosphere with speedy service. Make guests feel welcome as if our home was their home, creating a place they wish to spend their time.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet each guest by introducing yourself, shaking hands, upselling beverages, and making personalized suggestions
- Take beverage orders from guests and servers
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to the restaurant’s standard recipes
- Learn and recognize regular guests by name
- Record drink orders accurately in the Point of Sale system
- Process guest payments, including credit card charges and change
- Wash and sterilize glassware
- Prepare garnishes and replenish snacks/appetizers for bar patrons
- Maintain bottles and glassware attractively to support efficient drink preparation and promote beverages
- Clear and reset tables in the bar area
- Present drink menus, make recommendations, and answer beverage-related questions
- Maintain cleanliness in all bar areas including counters, floors, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage
- Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar
- Report equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the restaurant manager
- Assist in restocking bar inventory and supplies
- Fill in as needed to ensure smooth operation of the restaurant as directed by management
- Lead front-of-house efforts to ensure guests have the best experience
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years or older
- Minimum 2 years bartending experience
- Able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of guests
- Working knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and common drink recipes
- Basic math skills and ability to handle cash register operations
- Ability to stand for up to 5 hours continuously
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 40 pounds
