Title: Restaurant Bartender

The Westin Memphis Beale Street Hotel - Courtside Grille Restaurant

Pay: $7.25/Hour + Tips [Part-Time]

Summary of Position: Prepare standard mixed drinks and pour wine and beer to match customers’ specific orders. Provide friendly, attentive, and timely service to create an exceptional experience for all guests.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Maintain a guest focus while performing duties.
Check identification to ensure customers meet age requirements for alcohol purchase.
Take orders from guests and beverage orders from servers.
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to standard recipes.
Record drink orders promptly and accurately in the register system.
Accept guest payments, process credit card charges, and make change as needed.
Wash and sterilize glassware.
Prepare garnishes for drinks.
Maintain bottles and glasses attractively and functionally for efficient drink preparation.
Clear and reset tables in the bar area.
Present menus, make recommendations, and answer questions about beverages.
Maintain cleanliness in all bar areas including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage.
Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar.
Report equipment problems and maintenance issues to the bar supervisor.
Assist with restocking and replenishing bar inventory and supplies.
Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
Attend all scheduled employee meetings and contribute suggestions for improvement.

Qualifications:

Minimum 18 years of age.
Valid TABC Certification to serve alcohol.
Positive attitude and ability to work well with team members.
Effective communication skills in the predominant guest language(s).
Ability to work unsupervised.
Capable of handling money and operating a point-of-sale system.
Able to stand for long periods (up to 5 hours).
Able to safely lift and maneuver trays weighing up to 25 pounds.
Willingness to follow directions and seek clarification if needed.
Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Schedule:

Sunday through Saturday, typically 4pm CST - 11pm CST (may vary)
