Title: Bartender ("Cantinero/a") - Van Ryder

Location: Le Meridien Element Salt Lake City Downtown - Salt Lake City, UT 84101 Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time Salary Range: $8.00 Hourly

POSITION PURPOSE Provide friendly, courteous, and efficient food and beverage service to all guests. Maintain cleanliness and assist with general bar duties.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for guests and servers.
Take beverage and food orders at the bar; describe menu items and suggest products.
Restock and manage bar inventory and supplies.
Provide opening and closing inventory of spirits and ensure secure storage of liquor, beer, and wine.
Assist with recipe batching, ice molding, liquor infusions, and garnish preparation.
Ensure cleanliness and proper functioning of taps, coolers, blenders, and other equipment.
Verify customer identification to meet legal drinking age; refuse service to minors and intoxicated persons.
Act as cashier when necessary, handling payments and providing change accurately.
Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including waste disposal and glassware cleaning.
Assist servers, other bartenders, and barbacks as needed.
Participate in deep cleaning of the outlet.
Provide professional and courteous customer service.
Perform other duties assigned by management.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

Assist with guest inquiries.
Follow all company safety and security policies.
Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work primarily indoors with moderate, controlled temperatures.
Ability to work in extreme temperatures (freezers at -10°F, kitchens at +110°F) for up to one hour.
Stand and move with good pace for up to four hours.
Maneuver efficiently in limited space and between hotel departments.
Lift up to 45 lbs and push/pull carts or equipment up to 250 lbs.
Perform grasping, writing, bending, climbing, and repetitive motions with visual and auditory acuity.

REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent.
1-3 years of high-volume bar experience.
Must be at least 21 years old to serve alcohol.
Safe Server Alcohol & Food Handlers certification required.
California RBS Certification required.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, and POS systems.
Knowledge of spirits, beer, wine, bar/table service, and flavor profiles.
Detail oriented, organized, self-driven, and able to work independently.

GROOMING AND ATTENDANCE

Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance according to company standards.
Regular attendance and punctuality are essential; irregular attendance may result in disciplinary action.
Flexibility to work varying schedules based on business needs.
Attendance at scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
