Title: Bartender

Summary: The Bartender is responsible for greeting customers, taking drink and food orders, mixing ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, and sugar to prepare cocktails and other drinks, serving beer and other beverages, and completing transactions. They communicate ticket times and potential problems to the manager on duty and servers as necessary. The Bartender provides the highest quality of service to customers and associates at all times and performs other responsibilities as directed by management. This is a non-exempt position typically reporting to the Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, or General Manager depending on local requirements.

Essential Functions:

Greet customers and take food and drink orders, providing information about products and identifying opportunities to up-sell.
Follow recipes and product directions for mixing beverages.
Collect payments and operate cash registers in accordance with company cash handling policies; secure all monies at the end of each shift.
Follow alcohol awareness procedures to prevent intoxication and manage intoxicated guests appropriately.
Adhere to all customer service, adult beverage, and cash handling policies and procedures.
Maintain a clean, sanitized, and well-stocked bar.
Comply with all company safety and sanitation policies.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:

Must meet state minimum age requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
At least 1 year of bartending experience required; experience in high-volume or fast casual dining environments preferred.
Knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits preparation and presentation; staying updated on new and revised beverage recipes.
Ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner.
Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and policy documents; comfortable conversing with customers.
Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds.
Ability to walk, bend, twist, and stand for extended periods to perform job functions.
Cash handling and customer service experience preferred.
Frequent immersion of hands in water and chemical solutions.
