Job Title: Bartender (Cantinero/a)

Location: Mayflower Park Hotel - Seattle, WA 98101 Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time Salary: $21.30 per hour Shift: Flexible Category: Restaurant - Food Service

Position Purpose: Provide friendly, courteous, and efficient food and beverage service to all guests. Maintain cleanliness of the bar area and perform related duties including setup and general cleaning.

Essential Responsibilities:

Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for guests and servers.
Take beverage and food orders, describe menu items, and suggest products.
Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
Conduct opening and closing inventory of spirits.
Ensure liquor, beer, and wine products are safely stored and secured.
Assist with recipe batching, ice molding, liquor infusions, and garnish preparation.
Maintain cleanliness and proper operation of taps, coolers, blenders, and coffee makers.
Verify customer identification and ensure compliance with legal drinking age regulations.
Prevent serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated persons.
Operate cash register, process payments, and provide change accurately.
Maintain cleanliness by disposing waste, cleaning glassware, and wiping down bar surfaces.
Assist servers, bartenders, and barbacks as needed.
Participate in deep cleaning of the outlet.
Provide professional and courteous service to all guests.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Supportive Functions:

Assist with guest inquiries.
Follow company safety and security policies.
Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

Physical Demands:

Work primarily indoors with moderate temperature control.
Ability to endure brief periods in extreme temperatures (freezers at -10°F and kitchens at +110°F).
Stand and move continuously for up to four hours.
Maneuver in limited spaces and reach other hotel departments as needed.
Lift up to 45 lbs and push/pull carts or equipment up to 250 lbs.
Required physical abilities include grasping, writing, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, hearing, tasting, and visual acuity.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proficient in English with good verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent leadership and customer service skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
Basic computer skills, including Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, and POS knowledge.
Ability to work independently and manage conflicts with tact and diplomacy.
Knowledge of table and bar service, spirits, beer, wine, and flavor profiles.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

One to three years of experience in a high-volume bar setting.

Licenses and Certifications:

Must be at least 21 years old to serve alcohol.
Safe Server Alcohol & Food Handlers certification required.
California RBS Certification.

Grooming:

Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance according to Azul Hospitality standards.

Attendance:

Regular attendance is essential; irregular attendance or tardiness may lead to disciplinary action, including termination.
Flexibility to work varying schedules according to business needs.
Attendance at all scheduled trainings and meetings is required.
