Overview: The Barback is responsible for delivering excellent guest service by supporting servers and bartenders. This role involves anticipating and fulfilling guests' needs, maintaining knowledge of cocktail and beverage menus, and ensuring all products and supplies are available.

Responsibilities:

Maintain and refine service standards while ensuring compliance with hotel policies and local laws.
Ensure health, safety, and sanitation standards are met in preparation for daily health department and Ecosure inspections.
Possess thorough knowledge of alcoholic beverages and all food and beverage menu items.
Perform banquet side work as assigned, including cleaning bar equipment, portable bars, back bars, walls, and carpets.
Provide positive guest service, promptly addressing complaints to ensure guest satisfaction.
Assist in controlling food and beverage quantities to prevent over- or under-preparing.
Help with the setup and breakdown of banquet bar areas.
Attend all required department trainings and meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications:

Hands-on experience and comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage operations.
Minimum relevant bar experience in a large convention hotel preferred.
Ability to maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
Proven ability to engage guests warmly and provide personalized service.
Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
Availability to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Computer literacy including payroll systems, Micros, and POS systems.
Serve Safe certification and unexpired TIPs certification required.
