Job Description

Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent seasonal opening for Bartenders at the Del Mar Fairgrounds & Racetrack. This position supports the 2026 San Diego County Fair and Del Mar Thoroughbred Club's Summer Live Meet horse racing season. Candidates must be available to work nights and weekends.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Greet customers and present beverage menus
Make recommendations and answer related inquiries
Check identification to verify legal drinking age
Take orders from serving staff or directly from customers
Accurately record drink orders in the register system
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to standard recipes
Peel, slice, and pit fruit for garnishes
Mix and garnish cocktails following standard specifications
Serve snacks to customers at the bar
Upsell drinks and snack items
Respond promptly and professionally to customer requests
Limit issues related to excessive drinking per established procedures
Process transactions and customer payments using the POS system
Prepare checks and balance cash register at the start and end of shifts
Arrange glassware and bottles attractively
Ensure cleanliness of glasses, bar equipment, and work areas
Comply with health, safety, and hygiene policies
Monitor, order, and restock bar inventory

Qualifications:

Minimum age of 21 years
Valid RBS Certificate required
High school diploma preferred
2 years of relevant experience preferred
Working knowledge of standard drink recipes, spirits, wine, beer, bar equipment, and mixology is advantageous
Numeracy and cash-handling skills
Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends
Physical ability to stand for long periods, reach, bend, and lift up to 30 pounds
POS system experience, especially Clover

Physical Demands: The role requires standing for extended periods, moving around the facility, and occasional work indoors or outdoors depending on events.

Compensation: This position offers a pay rate of $16.90 per hour.
