FLSA STATUS: Part-time, Hourly Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY The Barback supports bartenders by stocking, organizing, and maintaining bar supplies, ensuring efficient, high-quality guest service. This role anticipates bartender needs, maintains bar cleanliness, and helps create a professional atmosphere.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Stock bar items, including beverages, garnishes, glassware, and paper products
Refill ice bins and monitor supply levels throughout shifts
Assist bartenders promptly to support smooth service
Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar areas, storage rooms, and equipment
Arrive on time, prepared and ready for setup
Adhere to company policies, operating standards, and safety procedures
Assist with closing duties, including restocking and breakdown of bar stations
Maintain a professional appearance
Follow all policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED required
Prior bar, nightclub, or restaurant experience preferred
ServSafe certification required or must be obtained
Personable, friendly, and welcoming demeanor
Knowledge of bar operations, service standards, and basic food & beverage preparation
Ability to create and serve drinks and food timely
Maintain good personal hygiene and professional appearance
Subject to credit and background screening

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proactive in delivering high-level customer service
Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Ability to work independently and follow direction
Fluent in English (read, speak, write)
Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to walk/stand extensively, bend, kneel, climb stairs, balance, and maneuver within the venue
Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds, occasionally more with assistance
Work performed indoors and outdoors with possible exposure to adverse conditions
Must be able to hear and speak clearly to use two-way radio
Flexible schedule including nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays
