Title: Bartender

Location: Bodega Taqueria y Tequila River North - Chicago, IL 60654 Salary Range: $12.62 per hour Category: Restaurant - Food Service

Bodega Taqueria y Tequila is seeking a dynamic and experienced Bartender to join our team. The Bartender will prepare, mix, and serve beverages for servers and guests efficiently, professionally, and with exceptional customer service. This position reports to the General Manager or Assistant General Manager.

Responsibilities:

Create and maintain a positive work environment promoting teamwork and professional growth.
Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including disposing of waste, cleaning glassware, and wiping down surfaces.
Collaborate with management on special events, promotions, and marketing.
Monitor drink preparation and presentation to ensure quality standards.
Address beverage quality issues promptly.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of beverages, ingredients, and preparation techniques.
Engage guests warmly to ensure they feel welcomed and comfortable.
Craft cocktails accurately according to recipes.
Strictly ensure no alcohol service to minors or intoxicated persons.
Communicate effectively with customers and staff in a positive, concise manner.
Maintain composure during busy or emergency situations, setting a positive example.
Collaborate closely with all departments to ensure smooth operations.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service laws.
Oversee proper storage and handling of alcohol and food items.

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years bartending experience.
High degree of professional integrity; able to work safely, effectively, and efficiently.
Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, sit for long periods, and use hands dexterously.
Visual abilities including close, distance, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Safety:

Follow all safety rules and report any injuries immediately to supervisors or security.
