Job Title: Bartender
Location: Roots Second City - Chicago, IL 60610 Salary: $12.62 per hour
Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and professional Bartender to manage their section at the bar and assist on the floor. The role involves pouring beer and wine, mixing cocktails, and creating an engaging and lively atmosphere for guests. Candidates will contribute to building a culture focused on teamwork, execution, and hospitality while participating in all daily operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage bar section and floor service
- Pour beer and wine, mix cocktails
- Create a welcoming and lively environment for guests
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace
- Participate in all day-to-day restaurant operations
- Comply with health and food safety standards
- Restock items and clean as needed
- Operate the cash register and assist with guest inquiries
- Follow company policies and procedures
Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of food, wine, beer, and liquor
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and respectful under pressure
- Organized and efficient
- Strong sense of hospitality and customer service
- Physical ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours
- Ability to lift up to 30+ pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Able to work in various temperature environments and tolerate potential allergens (peanuts, eggs, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, shellfish)
