Title: Barback

Position Summary: The Barback is a crucial support role responsible for maintaining 100% cleanliness and sanitation at bars and service wells. This position focuses on setup and cleanliness of the bartop, removing and washing glassware, silverware, and plateware during or after each visit, and sanitizing seating areas and tables.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards at all times.
Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
Clear and wash glassware, silverware, and plateware efficiently.
Pay attention to detail on tables and bartops.
Display hospitality and professionalism consistently.
Stay guest-focused to nurture an excellent guest experience.
Participate in and complete all required training.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by fostering respectful communication and relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and guests.
Support the mission of Blue Plate Restaurant Company by engaging appropriately in the business and treating all customers, visitors, vendors, and colleagues with respect and dignity.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Exceptional ability to engage with guests professionally.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, lift, twist, and move for prolonged periods.
Able to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally, including lifting over the shoulders.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

Frequent talking to convey detailed instructions clearly and quickly.
Hearing normal conversations and receiving usual information.
Regular repetitive motions involving the entire body.
Average visual acuity needed for inspection of documents, containers, and food.
Reasoning ability to interpret instructions and deal with variables.
Basic mathematical skills.
Fluent reading, writing, and speaking in English.

Summary: This position requires the ability to satisfactorily perform all essential duties. Candidates should be prepared to take initiative and assume additional responsibilities as needed.
