Job Purpose
The Barback assists bartenders with all bar duties and ensures the bar operates smoothly to set the stage for success.
Responsibilities:
- Stock, set up, and replenish bar supplies with professionalism and urgency
- Coordinate efforts with bartenders, service staff, and management
- Restock bottles, ice, change kegs, and deliver necessary items to maintain bar readiness
- Maintain cleanliness around the bar and assist with opening and closing procedures
- Keep bar glassware clean and stocked
- Perform other duties as requested by management
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years or older
- Friendly, outgoing, and able to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Able to regularly lift or move up to 30 pounds and exert force up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication and active listening skills
- Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays; standing and walking for extended periods indoors and outdoors
- Organizational, teamwork, and multitasking skills
- Six months or more experience in food and beverage preferred but not required
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced, high-energy bar and entertainment environment
- Frequent standing, walking, and moving throughout shifts
- Work includes evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Indoor and outdoor environments with varying temperatures and noise levels
- Regular lifting of items up to 30 lbs, occasional exertion up to 50 lbs
- Constant interaction with bartenders, servers, and guests
- Requires focus, adaptability, and teamwork under pressure
