Job Description
Title: Bartender
Location: Charlotte Airport F&B
Summary: The Bartender is responsible for greeting customers, taking drink and food orders, mixing ingredients (such as liquor, soda, water, and sugar) to prepare cocktails and other beverages, serving beer and other drinks, and completing transactions. They communicate ticket times and any issues to the manager and servers as needed. The role requires providing excellent customer service at all times and performing other duties as assigned. This is a non-exempt position.
Essential Functions:
- Greet customers and take food and drink orders
- Provide information about products and identify opportunities to upsell
- Follow recipes and product directions for mixing beverages
- Collect payments and operate cash registers according to company cash handling policies
- Secure all monies at the end of each shift
- Follow alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication and handling intoxicated guests
- Comply with all customer service, adult beverage, and cash handling policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and well-stocked bar
- Adhere to company safety and sanitation guidelines
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:
- Must meet the state minimum age for serving alcoholic beverages
- Minimum of 1 year of bartending experience; experience in high-volume or fast casual dining preferred
- Knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits, including preparation and presentation, and staying current with beverage recipes
- Ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly and enthusiastic manner
- Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and policy documents
- Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to walk, bend, twist, and stand for extended periods
- Cash handling and customer service experience preferred
- Frequently immerses hands in water and chemical solutions
