Title: Bartender

Job Location: Durham Hilton, Durham, NC 27705 Position Type: Internship Shift: PM

Responsibilities:

Serve beverages and food to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
Greet guests, take and document drink orders, mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard recipes and portion control.
Maintain proper daily bar setup, including requisitioning and stocking beer, wine, spirits, paper products, condiments, and produce based on daily function projections.
Prepare and store fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables to ensure quality.
Handle cash transactions, provide change, verify charges, record sales, and ensure proper voucher execution to balance money.
Secure and store beverages, food, equipment, and deposit cash drops.
Answer bar phone promptly and courteously, take room service orders, input orders into the point-of-sale system, and issue guest checks.
Perform general cleaning tasks using hotel-approved cleaning products to comply with health standards.
Adhere to all company policies, safety, security procedures, and emergency protocols.
Report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, or property damage to supervisors.
Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance as outlined in the team member handbook.
Assist other beverage personnel as needed and perform related duties assigned by supervisors or managers.

Requirements:

Valid Food Handler Card.
Knowledge of state, federal, and corporate liquor laws, including regulations regarding minors and intoxicated guests.
Basic knowledge of beverage preparation and service.
Basic math skills for cash handling and register operation.
Basic English writing and communication skills.
Manual dexterity for garnishing, glassware handling, ice scooping, mixing drinks, and retrieving stock.
Ability to comprehend product labeling and menu items.
Ability to operate beverage equipment (e.g., coffee maker).
Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and perform frequent bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
