Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is seeking a Bartender for the Richardson Hotel in Buffalo, NY.

Job Purpose: The Bartender is a key social point of contact and creates a lasting impression for guests. Providing warm, knowledgeable service and helpful guidance reassures guests they’ve made the right choice to stay with us.

Responsibilities:

Be an enthusiastic, helpful, and positive member of the team
Assist servers, bartenders, and bar porters as needed
Maintain professional, responsible, and mature conduct
Foster a friendly and encouraging environment among co-workers
Use time efficiently and remain self-motivated
Maintain open communication with all departments
Communicate relevant information effectively
Accept and apply constructive feedback
Support other departments in emergencies

Qualifications and Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent
Alcohol Awareness Certification and Food Handlers Certification required
Knowledge of drink preparation and applicable health standards
Familiarity with federal, state, and local laws regarding alcohol service to minors and intoxicated patrons
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary workplace language
Basic computational and computer skills
Good knowledge of hotel services, facilities, and menu items
Ability to operate bar equipment, including coffee makers and cash terminals
Physical ability to work in varying temperatures (freezers down to -10°F and kitchens up to 110°F) for extended periods
Ability to stand and move continuously for up to 4 hours
Ability to lift trays up to 30 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 75 lbs
Ability to push and pull carts weighing up to 250 lbs
Ability to bend, squat, stretch, and perform repetitive motions as needed

Other Requirements:

Strong communication skills for guest and employee interaction
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Compensation:

Hourly rate of $15 to $16 plus tips, depending on experience
