Title: Bartender

Job Summary: Bartenders are dynamic hospitality professionals responsible for all aspects of the customer experience at the bar, including executing beverage recipes to standard for all dining room customers. They work alongside Bar Backs as a team to ensure warm and accommodating service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Complete all assigned side work related to the setup and breakdown of the bar.
Ensure the bar is well-stocked with glasses, coasters, napkins, straws, ice, liquor, wine, and beer.
Greet all customers at the bar or in the dining area.
Maintain responsible alcohol service, including checking identification for proof of age.
Make recommendations and answer menu inquiries.
Take orders accurately and enter them into the system.
Provide hospitality and upsell the customer experience.
Identify allergies and dietary restrictions, collaborating with management and chefs.
Prepare cocktails, beverages, and pour wines.
Clear glassware and maintain cleanliness of the bar and dining areas.
Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions; balance the cash register.
Alert management to any customer experience issues.
Maintain inventory levels for all bar items.
Adhere to safety and health standards as per Local Department of Health.
Organize deliveries and prepare juices, mixers, syrups, garnishes.
Perform inventory under Bar Manager's direction.
Train new employees as assigned.
Continuously update knowledge and skills through training.
Assist other restaurant areas when requested.

Qualifications:

Legal age to serve alcohol.
Ability to read, speak, understand, and follow directions in English.
Reachable by email and phone.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Positive, team-player attitude.
Ability to perform under pressure and maintain professionalism.
Knowledge of workplace safety and health standards.
Food Handler’s Certification or ability to obtain.
Flexible schedule availability including weekends, nights, holidays.
Certification for responsible alcohol service or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Familiarity with restaurant management software (POS, reservations, inventory, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Extensive knowledge of classic and house beverages.

Pay Range: $17 per hour (New York State Pay Transparency Law compliant).
